Sue Miley, Business Coach & Owner

Sue Miley, Business Coach, started Crossroads Professional Coaching, after many years in the corporate world, in order to help others seek and find God's plan for their business.
My education is varied to support my different career directions. First, I earned my undergraduate degree in Finance at Louisiana State University in 1986. And in 1993, I completed my Masters in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing. Finally, I finished my education with a Masters in Education in Community Counseling in 2004 because I wanted to become a Licensed Professional Counselor.
Business Career
I started my business career in finance. After a brief stint in banking, I was hired as a financial analyst at a regional consumer packaged goods company – Community Coffee Company. I spent a total of twelve years at this 70%+ regional market share coffee company and served as a Financial Analyst, Finance Manager, Marketing Research Manager, Marketing Manager, Corporate Controller, Vice President and Director of the Coffee House Division, and even interim CFO for a year.
My strong experience in finance, combined with my passion for marketing, provided for opportunities in various areas of the company. This culminated in my leading a new operating division of gourmet coffee houses. This was a start-up division with a very different culture than the traditional grocery store and office coffee divisions.
In leading the coffee house division, I found my entrepreneurial home. It was just like starting your own business, however, with good capital backing. Everything was included, from product design, store design, construction, building a team from scratch, developing policy and procedures, and managing sales and profits; it was an entrepreneurial MBA!
I later went on to run a new restaurant concept before leaving the corporate world. You see, I found God somewhere towards the end of my tenure at the coffee company. I felt God calling me to a different path. Although it wasn't the absolute straightest path, I soon left the corporate world, earned my license as a professional counselor, and went on to become a Christian Business Coach and Counselor.
Faith and Family
God opened many doors, which provided me with opportunities to work under other Christian counselors, pastors and even be on staff at my church for a couple of years. This mentorship helped complete my education and experience in biblical knowledge and Christian values.
Over the years, as an Elder and Ministry leader in my church, I have combined what I know about business with what I have learned about walking with God. I believe in building business on a foundation of Christian values. And, therefore, have done it in my business and helped many other Christians in business.
My husband Jim joined me at Crossroads five years ago. We have been married for 32 years and have three grown children and a granddaughter. We currently live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
I enjoy my family, my three miniature dachshunds, reading, painting, cooking and the stock market.
