Without a Clear Vision, Your Team Will Get Lost On the Way

Clear Vision

Entrepreneurs must get their vision out of their head and onto paper.  Only when we begin to clarify our vision, and communicate it widely and consistently,  do we begin to move our organization toward healthy and sustainable growth.  The first step is always a clear vision.

It is easy to believe that your business is truly inspired by vision, hopefully God’s vision for you and your business.  However, if you can’t verbalize it on paper, it is likely that you don’t have the true clarity that you need to have everyone moving in unity.

Every Journey Must Have a Starting Point

Start with a pen and paper.

Get it down in whatever words come to mind.  These specific words will not be on your website or a plaque on your wall.  It is a start.  A start to a clear vision.

One way I like to begin is to look further down the line to the future.

If things go your way, and you could have your business evolve perfectly, what would it look like in 5 or 10 years?

What would your specific services or products be?

Who would be your target audience and ideal customers?

What culture would you create in your team and organization?

How would your organization be structured?

What would your key strategies be to bring your services or products to market?

What size of a company would you create?

What would your organization’s point of difference be compared to competitors?

Remember to think down the road.  Right now you can’t snap your fingers and get there.  The need for immediate gratification can keep us from even casting a vision.  It sometimes feels so far away.

A Clear Vision Creates a Straight Path

But, every journey needs a starting place and a direction.  Having a clear and purposeful vision gives everyone that is a part of your organization a specific direction to go.

Having everyone use their energy and passion toward the SAME direction will help you get their more efficiently and quickly.
